Every child deserves to grow up healthy and safe, breathing fresh air, drinking safe water.
That isn’t a political slogan. It’s a foundational American value that 91% of registered voters agree with
This year, the America the Beautiful for All Coalition set out to test what our community already knew: protecting nature, public health, and environmental justice isn't a partisan issue—it's a human issue. We partnered with ASO Communications and Lake Research Partners to design a new messaging playbook.
The results are in.
The Lake Research poll, conducted from October 6-15, 2025, surveyed over 1,500 registered voters. In a recent briefing, Celinda Lake, one of the Democratic Party’s most respected strategists, walked us through the findings. As Celinda said, we didn't start with policy. We started with our core values. And we found Americans are already on our side.

We Have to Bust the Myths We Tell Ourselves
Before our collective movement can win, we have to unlearn a few things. Our research busted three key myths.
Myth #1: People don't care about environmental issues right now.
Reality: 83% of voters are concerned about having safe water to drink, and 84% are concerned about having healthy air to breathe. These aren't secondary issues. They are survival issues.
Myth #2: Environmental protection is hopelessly partisan.
Reality: The EPA has net-positive ratings with both Democrats (67% favorable) AND Republicans (54% favorable). The idea of environmental protection unites us.
Myth #3: We don't have credible messengers.
Reality: Environmental experts, park rangers, and scientists are among the most trusted voices in America when it comes to environmental matters. They are far more trusted than any politician.
Messages That Win for Nature, Justice, and Health
Lake Research Partners tested our core narratives, and three clear winners emerged. This is our new "Message Triangle".
The Land Stewards Message
70% of voters found this convincing, with 45% calling it "very convincing."
Why it works: It names the villain and the heroes.
Example: "The MAGA regime is attacking the public servants most committed to being stewards of our land, including park rangers, biologists, and maintenance workers."
The Homeland Message
70% of voters found this convincing, with 45% calling it "very convincing."
Why it works: It connects our 91% core value to a direct threat.
Example: "America's bayous, beaches, deserts, forests and mountains are some of the best parts of our homeland. But certain politicians are threatening our lands, wildlife, and our families' future by selling off our shared lands to their corporate backers."
The Connection Message
75% of voters found this convincing, with 43% calling it "very convincing."
Why it works: It weaves our fight into a larger, patriotic story of American progress.
Example: "What makes America beautiful is our connection to each other... Just as we've come together in our past to pass clean water laws... and promote civil rights, we must now come together..."

How We Use This to Win
This poll proves what organizers have known all along: Americans aren't divided on healthy air and safe water. We are united. The only division is between the 91% of us who want our children to be healthy and the handful of corporate polluters and the politicians who poison us for profit.
This research is our playbook for speaking to ourselves in a way that encourages alignment.

We are so excited to work with our coalition partners to build on this evidence-based foundation. The guessing game is over. We have the data.
Join us and be a part of this movement!
